What’s up, writers?
I’m teaming up with Lillie McFerrin, Angie Richmond and Daniel Swensen for a blog hop, to celebrate our awesome community of blog followers and fellow writers.
What’s a blog hop, you’re wondering? Well, Anakin…

Write a piece of flash fiction, poem, or song (300 words or less) using the photo above as your inspiration. Post it on your blog anytime between now and when the link closes. Every eligible entry will qualify for a chance to win one of the prizes listed below. Links will close for submissions January 30th. Lillie, Angie, Angela and I will then read, debate, and decide on five winners for the following:
5th: A copy of Steven Kingβs On Writing
Winners will be announced February 7th.
Copy and paste the linky code below with your entry. Spread the word! We look forward to reading your take on this amazing photo!
C’mon, do it!

Blog hopping; quite splendid! My entry will be coming later today or tomorrow!

I am way excited for this! I think I’ll put mine up on Thursday π
Hooray! Thanks J.A.!
no problem! I put it up today π
That’s a great picture to use as a writing prompt. Entry posted! I’m looking forward to reading what others come up with.
Thanks for signing up Jennifer! Looking forward to everyone’s entries!
You’re getting some good ones, looks like!
I’m using Tumblr and I’m having trouble with the javascript given above. I’ve already submitted my link but when I open it the other blog hop entries do not appear.
I’ve pasted the link at the bottom of my html page.
Am I doing something wrong?
JB, I tried it on my Tumblr blog as well, and I couldn’t make it work either. I will look into it further and find a solution if I can. It may be that Tumblr just doesn’t allow this kind of Javascript.
It’s working now! Thanks for the help Daniel (and google hah!) π
I have already submitted my link and I hope it works fine.
I see your name in the list, so looks like it did. π
And I found it, I think. You have to go into Preferences (the little cog) and select “edit using plan text / HTML” before posting the javascript. Tumblr strips it out if you just use the rich text editor. Hope that works. If not, then I really don’t know :/
I couldn’t get the script to work in my Blogger post – any ideas what I’m doing wrong?
Have you tried switching to the “edit html” tab before pasting in the code, and then publishing? It might be the rich-text editor (the “compose” tab) stripping out the Javascript.
Yes, I only tried it in the html tab. Maybe I should use the compase tab. Will let you know if that works
The javascript has to be in a new post and not in a HTML widget, just in case that’s what you were trying π
Thanks All! I finally figured it out by messing with the script syntax. I can share if anyone else is having issues on Blogger.
Just finished an entry. It will be up tomorrow. Hope you enjoy it. π
Hot dog, great to hear, David!
I seem to be having an issue posting the linky on my entry. I copy and pasted the code, but nothing shows. Help?
David, I’m so sorry I didn’t see your message before now. Have you tried adding the code snippet in HTML mode? I’m afraid I don’t have much experience with Blogspot.
I really enjoyed taking part in this blog hop, Daniel π The picture is a belter!
Thank you, Catherine!
Thanks for the help.I am way excited for this.http://www.mentor-market.ro
I just came across this today and entered. I couldn’t get the inlinkz code to work on my wordpress site though, so I place a link to this site within my post. Great idea for a contest. Thanks for having it!
Thank you, Dave!
